Pioneer Mummy
If you are coming here expecting to read a blog full of amazing daily entries full of ideas of how to entertain your children and and how to get those children to be perfect angels and how my perfect life is - you are SOOO in the wrong place!
I do love craft, I love my kids and my husband, and we do have a truly blessed life, but sometimes I don't do anything even remotely crafty! Some blog entries will more than likely be craft they have done somewhere else! They come home with the most amazing craft from Kids Club at our Church. Some days my idea of craft is them taking turns picking which DVD they are going to watch. I'm not perfect, I don't pretend to be. I may come on here occasionally and have a virtual cry. Feel free to cry along with me, just don't fry your keyboard with tears. I'd be honoured to have you along with me.

Picture of the week!
My favourite photo this week. Just because I'm grateful to live in a street with friendly neighbours where my kids can actually ride their bike. Plus this shot shows our grey minivan which we traded in this week for a 4WD. So it's the end of an era!
Love my street.

Picture of the Week
So this is the first week I've done this, so we will see just how many weeks we get a 'pic of the week' and it may just evolve into 'pic of the month'
So... how good is this photo!!! GORGEOUS!!!

Following Fondue
I have recently discovered my new favourite restaurant "Cafe Fondue" in Port Macquarie, NSW. When I say new restaurant - it really is new, only 3 weeks old. If you are in the area, seriously give it a go. It's all leather lounges and coffee tables, funny staff and a really cool area out the back for kids.. enough already or I'll have to hit them up for commission...
So I figured I would recreate the experience at home... HAHAHAHAHAHA too funny! It was however, a really fun lunch!

Restocked Craft Box!
It was high time the craft box got restocked, and boy were the kids excited when Mummy started getting organised, even more impressed when they realised that not only were there now FOUR craft boxes - we were going to do something with them! WOO HOO!!! They ran to the table so excited, it was gorgeous, but made me feel a little guilty as I then realised I hadn't done as much 'crafty' stuff with them as they have been used to. So we got stuck in big time!
A fabulous box of "STUFF" to paint, stick or use however they feel the need, anything shiny or sparkly goes down really well for Paige, and anything bumpy is Eryka's first pick!
I found these really cool art boxes - cheap too - at Lincraft. They included paint, textas, pencils, crayons, pastels, a ruler, eraser and a paintbrush.
These little paint pots have been the BEST things ever! When trying to control 3 little ones with paint, these have been awesome, they also have little caps for where the paint brush goes so the paint doesn't dry out. Plus I also now don't need to put out a bowl of water for rinsing brushes between colors!
Glitter paint is always a popular option for girls!
While doing the groceries at Coles, I stumbled upon packets of fold out paper people! There were like 20 in a pack for about $3, the girls had a great time - well, little Sophia lost interest very quickly and became determined to destroy her older sisters so she got stuck down the other end of the table for a while! But they drew faces, glued buttons, glued this gold string stuff on for hair (and then whinged as they had gold stuff stuck to their hands...) and generally created a character for each different person.
They tended to change seats depending on who Sophia was annoying the most at the time!
Artwork drying off in the playroom afterwards! Then tucked away in drawer to be used as wrapping paper at Christmas time!

Messy Day at Playgroup!
Every Tuesday morning we go to what I reckon has got to be one of the best playgroups arounds, awesome kids, awesome Mums and carers, and everybody has a blast, oh and I get to drink a cup of tea that hasn't been microwaved 10 times! So last week we decided it was time to go crazy and have a messy day!
I volunteered for my favourite messy craft - which is a table full of shaving foam and some food coloring! Let them mix it up with hands or spoons or sticks and then press some paper over the top, then remove the excess foam and HEY! Beautiful marbled paper!
Some of the gorgeous creations!
We also had the kids get the feet painted, they then transferred this onto paper, then afterwards they got to run around and make a big mess on the concrete path! This is Eryka's footprint.
And they even had a good time cleaning up after themselves at the end!
Mixing it up at the foam table!
Paint clothes were well needed! Eryka "creating" something at the paint table. So many different textures here, there was paint, cut up vegetables for different patterns, and shaped sponges
The activity is SO simple, yet is always incredibly popular! We just blu-tacked paper to the bars of the fence, then let them loose with bottles of different colors - just water and food coloring.
Messy Play can be so much fun, just let your guard down and let go!
So I did bring a change of clothes, but there was nothing to be done about the face until we got home! We got a few strange looks on the walk home but hey, the massive smile on my daughters face all afternoon was SOOO worth it!

Just to prove a point...
Now just to prove a point that I'll put up craft they have done somewhere else, I'll do it for my first post! Every Sunday evening from 4 - 6.30 pm, our local Church (Grace Church, Port Macquarie) puts on a Kids Club. They do activities and stories, they get dinner and dessert and some really cool craft and all for $5. BARGAIN! Paige absolutely loves it - mainly because it's for school age children so she gets some time out from her sisters I reckon :) So here is the craft we were presented with on Sunday:
It's a tiger, not that I needed to tell you of course...
Isn't she cute? Well of course it is a girl, look at that pose!
And from one more angle, just to let me play around with the photos a little...
So there you have it, my first ever blog post and it's craft I had nothing to do with, well I paid for the $5 for her to get in so I guess I can still claim it, sort of, maybe...
